I play guitar and sing with my band. For the longest time I was using a tripod mic stand and setting the stand off to the side of, and reaching over, my pedal board. I would have problems with the weight of the mic tipping the mic stand, and not being able to reach the pedals on the ends while singing. Not any longer! Now that I have the Gear Hugger Custom Mic Stand I can stand centered on my pedal board and sing naturally while still being able to reach the pedals that I need. Plus the high quality base unit is of a weight that I don't have to worry about the stand tipping any longer. This really is a "two birds - one stone" situation. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a quality mic stand and has limited stage space... Bob V from CT.
